Track an application

If you have applied for a visa category that is eligible for an eVisa, your passport will be returned to you immediately following biometric enrolment.

You will then receive your decision via email directly from UKVI. If you receive a successful decision, please do not travel to the UK until you receive this notification and set up your UKVI eVisa account online.

If you have applied for a visa category where you will receive an eVisa and a physical vignette, you will be notified by email from UKVI when a decision has been made. If you receive a successful decision, you will be told that you have been issued with an eVisa and that the Visa Application Centre will contact you when your vignette and passport are ready to collect.

If you have applied for a visa category where you receive a physical vignette, you will receive an email
when your decision has been returned to the Visa Application Centre. If you can’t access your email easily, or would like more detailed tracking information, you can get updates by SMS sent directly to your phone. Check whether this service is available at the Visa Application Centre you are visiting.

You can also track your visa application status online.

Please click here and use the GWF reference number along with your email ID to access this service.

When your passport is ready for collection at the Visa Application Centre, you will receive a notification email. Do not visit the centre prior to receiving the notification. Please ensure you have the required documents prepared when you attend the centre to collect your passport:

1. Self-Collection: If you are collecting your passport, you will need a QR code, which can be found on your appointment letter or downloaded from your VFS account, and a government-issued photo ID.

2. Collection for Minors: The parent or legal guardian must provide their government-issued photo ID, as well as the QR code, which can be found on the appointment letter or downloaded from your VFS account.

3. Third-Party Collection: In addition to the above, a letter of authority filled and signed by the customer (or by a parent/guardian for minors under 18) is required, along with a government-issued photo ID of the authorised person.

Please check with the Visa Application Centre at the time of appointment for the options available to collect your documents.
