Important update about eVisas

From 12 January 2026, most people granted a visit visa and some other visa types including Seasonal Worker, Overseas Domestic Worker, Direct Airside Transit and EU Settlement Scheme family permits will get an eVisa (a digital record of your identity and immigration status) as well as a vignette (the visa sticker in your passport).

This means you will be able to create a UKVI account and access your eVisa to prove your immigration status.

You will need to collect your vignette from the Visa Application Centre before you travel to the UK.

You will be told what to do when you get your decision.

GOV.UK provides further information on eVisas.

Other visa routes continue to receive an eVisa only, please refer to eVisas Important Update | vfsglobal .
